Scott Anderson, DVM
Dr. Anderson received his DVM degree from The Ohio State University in 1969. He served as a captain in the US Army from 1968 to 1972. During this period, he was assigned to the White House (Nixon administration) and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Anderson joined Avenues Pet Hospital in 1972 and became owner of the practice in 1976. He served as chairman of the San Francisco Animal Control and Welfare Commission from 1981-1988 and has been a consultant to the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) department of laboratory animal medicine since 1991. Dr. Anderson is an avid sports fan and, in fact, was a pitcher for OSU’s NCAA championship baseball team in 1966. He is also a lifetime Dolphin Club member and a member of the AVMA, CVMA and SFVMA.

Richard Schwach, DVM, MS
Dr. Schwach received his BS and DVM degrees from Michigan State University in 1974. After completing a one-year internship in a small animal group practice, he began his surgical residency at Colorado State University. While at CSU, he completed his orthopedic and general surgical residency and also earned an MS degree in surgery. He became board-qualified for the American College of Veterinary Surgery in 1977. Dr. Schwach joined Avenues Pet Hospital in August 1977 and became business partners with Dr. Anderson in 1983. He is a member of the AVMA and SFVMA.

Shari B. O’Neill, DVM
Dr. O’Neill attended the University of Kentucky as an undergraduate and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Prior to graduation, she completed an externship in emergency medicine and served as a student resident in the Small Animal Clinic. Dr. O’Neill practiced in Georgia and Colorado before moving to San Francisco. She became an associate at Avenues Pet Hospital in 2003. Her professional interests include public health, zoonotic and infectious disease, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. She is a member of the AVMA, CVMA and SFVMA.

Brandy Vickers, DVM
Dr. Vickers grew up in Alabama with the constant companionship of cats, dogs, birds, frogs, and turtles. She studied zoology in Auburn University's Honors Program before graduating from the University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. While there she worked with birds of prey at the Southeastern Raptor Rehabilitation Center and was active in the Animal Welfare Action Committee performing exams and treatments for shelter animals. After graduation she moved to California with her two cats Blinky and Switch and joined Avenues Pet Hospital in 2005. Her professional interests include pain management and dentistry, and in her free time she enjoys skating, drawing, and sewing. She is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, and SFVMA.

Dr. Shebel Hariharan graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College, Price Edward Island, Canada in 2005. After completing an internship at the San Diego Zoo, “Dr. Shebel” fell in love with California and moved to San Diego with her dog Gaia where she practiced in Eastlake for 5 years. She was married in March 2010, and relocated to the Bay Area where she joined Avenues Pet Hospital later that year. She considers herself a “family doctor” and has special interests in dermatology, surgery, and integrative medicine. She is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, and SFVMA.
